Argraph’s
Remotest Remote Control?
The Argraph
Twin1 R3-UT Max is not named after the CEO’s Uncle
Max. This clever infrared (IR) remote earns its title from
being able to fire a shutter from 330 feet away, max., and
has the added capability of operating a delayed shutter
release and connecting to compatible cameras for bulb release.
For cameras with built-in IR sensors, the Twin1 R3-UT Max
is claimed to provide more than triple the operational range
of competitive IR transmitters, and it is compatibile with
Nikon, Canon Pentax and Samsung cameras simultaneously.
It also includes a cable release for wired shutter release
functions for cameras having a shutter-release port. One
center button fires the camera shutter, and it supports
instant and half-shutter-release AE/AF functions. The transmitter
is powered by an easy-to-replace CR123A battery; the receiver
takes a CR2032—and, wonder of wonders, batteries are
included. MSRP for the set, including transmitter and receiver:
$119.95.

The
Twin1 Universal Infrared Wireless & Wired Remote Shutter
Release from Argraph is a handy, must-have gadget for your
DSLR. If your camera doesn't have a built-in infrared sensor,
the Twin1 Shutter Release Receiver is the solution. In fact,
this kit is unique—the first to operate as both a wire
and wireless release.
We
were wowed by our tests of the unit's wireless capabilities
of 60 feet! With plug and play simplicity, set up is fast
and hassle-free. Once connected, you've got its powerful capabilities
in your hand, ready at the press of a button. Indeed, the
wireless range was exceptional and never faltered. With the
Twin1 you can forget the camera's self-timer function and
have complete control over your shots. No blurred photos due
to camera shake, you can employ wireless indoors or out. Ideal
for photographing wildlife, sports or working with models.
And, of course, you can get yourself into the shot without
the pressure of a timer. The Twin1 is nothing if not flexible
and fully supports instant and half shutter auto focus/auto
exposure functions. It also features a handy key ring attachment
with a quick release clip.
Best
of all, you're not using the camera's hot shoe but its electronic
release socket, so you can fire your flash wirelessly. And
with an SRP of under ninety bucks, the Twin1 is a bargain.
